The XM7 rifle is the U.S. Army’s new Next Generation Squad Weapon (NGSW), developed by Sig Sauer, designed to replace the M4 carbine with superior armor penetration and range using a powerful 6.8x51mm SIG Fury round, featuring an advanced optic, integrated suppressor, and heavier design with higher recoil, replacing the previous XM5 designation to enhance infantry effectiveness against advanced threats, with user testing underway by elite units like the 101st Airborne.
